The cloud is dark, and the night seems unending
I looked for light, but none comes to sight
I searched, but I couldn’t find any
Something must be wrong then, I said to myself
I thought within myself what the matter could be
I couldn’t find any clue
I have prayed and I had searched the Word
But nothing seems to be working
I know I haven’t been so faithful with my walk with the Master
I have neglected my assignment
I got engrossed with my personal pursuits
I placed priorities on frivolities
Ohh! Now I know why I can’t hear or see what I am looking for
I am far away from where I am supposed to be
I am supposed to be at my duty post watching and leading
When did I leave that point?
Still in my somber state, I heard a voice
A sweet refreshing voice
It said to me, “I was with you all this while, but you didn’t recognize it was me,
I was still speaking and watching out for you,
I was stretching forth my hand even in the darkness
I am always with you even in the dark times
All you need do is call out to me, and you shall see me
For I am the Light that shines in the darkness
Darkness cannot withstand me.
You saw darkness because you had turned your focus away from me.”
I was so happy to hear these sweet words
I knelt and thanked my Master.
I turned my focus on him, then I beheld light all around
In joy, I continued my journey.
Thank God for His light on my path.
Dearly Beloved, do note that you have been highly favoured by the Lord, for God has promised to never leave nor forsake you. Be assured of this truth, for God is not man that He should lie.
There are times when your situation seems to suggest to you that God is faraway and has deserted you. However, it is never so because God cannot go back on His Word. Hence, in such times, you need to encourage yourself in the Lord, knowing that God is right alongside you in the journey.
In other times, when God seems so far away and it appears as though He has left you to yourself. It could simply be that you strayed away from God, thus, creating a gap between you and Him. This gap can be bridged by drawing nearer to God in humility of heart.
Whether or not you feel God’s presence, do know that He is always there. This means that you must always align your feeling to this Truth. This is faith in action.
